Hyderabad: President and CEO of Lumium, Sreeni Sreenivasan, on Saturday became the first Indian to be appointed president of the World Design Organisation (WDO). Sreenivasan succeeds Luisa Bocchietto and will be at the helm till 2021. He has served as treasurer on the board of directors for the WDO from 2015 to 2017, and was named president-elect for the 2017 to 2019 term.
Sreenivasan intends to bring India on the global maps in terms of design. “Over the last decade, the design industry has grown manifold. Following Hyderabad, more cities such as Kochi and Ahmedabad are set to host design weeks, placing them on a global map through WDO,” he said. TNN
